GKN Aerospace has 1,000 highly qualified engineers based internationally. Using the very latest in collaborative processes, our teams operate on a project-based stand-alone design basis providing our customers with the ability to supplement or deliver their own design and build programs. Our engineering centres of excellence are based across three time zones providing ‘follow the sun’ services: working for aerospace, defence and marine industry customers 24/7 to compress project cycles.
We deliver a comprehensive service portfolio across the globe: from definition of requirements, to proof of concept, to bespoke product design (including CAD design and NC programming specialists), to manufacture, project management, in-service support, and the publication of technical and maintenance manuals. We are at the forefront of Knowledge Based Engineering: applying proprietary processes, we capture the knowledge inherent in engineering techniques, optimise them, and implement standard methodologies (typically within a dedicated software program) to deliver high-quality projects and reduce lead time.
Our services are supported by continuous investments in the latest engineering tools and relevant skills. We are very experienced in working as part of customers’ project groups and have the resources and expertise to develop deep working relationships: we invest in co-located facilities where required and have a flexible approach to delivery with agreements underpinned by risk and reward benchmarks. Our dedicated engineers are widely deployed on major aerospace and marine projects across military and civil sectors and are trusted team members of many of the world’s leading companies including AgustaWestland, Airbus, Boeing, BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Rolls-Royce, and Sikorsky.
