GKN Aerospace gains $82m contract for advanced titanium parts for the Boeing 787

GKN Aerospace has been awarded a Long Term Agreement by Boeing Commercial Aircraft Company to supply thirteen complex titanium fittings for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. These parts comprise structural wing to body and wing to nacelle fittings and will be manufactured in the new 5553 advanced grade titanium.

Bembridge Adventurer will climb Kilimanjaro for Macmillan

GKN Aerospace wins contract from Pratt & Whitney for new ice protection system for JSF engine

27/03/2006

GKN Aerospace has won an initial US$6 million contract from U.S.-based Pratt & Whitney to develop new electro-thermal heater mats for the advanced Engine Ice Protection System (EIPS) on the F135 engine. The F135 is the lead engine for the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft. GKN Aerospace anticipates that this contract will lead to full scale production in support of the F-35 program, which will enter service in 2012.

Should the X-47B enter full production, the total value of the contract would exceed $500M.
